Trip to the Farm
Finally the series of blogs I have been wanting to write start today and as its never too late to do something, the time has come to talk about my first ever trip to my mom's cocoa farm in my home town and to let you all know of the experience.
So it happened on the Eid holiday, the 8th of August,2013. I left the house very early - before 6 am and left for the village where the farm is located. That is about 30 kilometres from where I live and it was about an hour's journey.
I got to Senfi, that's the name of my home town, around 7 and walked close to 3 miles to get to the farm. It was very tedious because it was a hilly place which made walking more difficult. It was like doing the exercises I never get to do :)
I finally got to the farm and also got to see the work of the guys spraying pesticides on the cocoa trees and since the pesticide was poisonous I had to make sure I didn't inhale any. I then moved around the farm which was very big and I enjoyed myself. I didn't weed or do anything similar but I enjoyed the day knowing it was actually my first on the farm and it was a great feeling.
